Your Roadmap to Understanding Pet Development with Growth Charts |
In collaboration with the Waltham Petcare Science Institute and a team of experts including veterinarians, statisticians, and nutrition scientists, the puppy and kitten growth chart is meticulously crafted using measurements from healthy young dogs and common European shorthair cats.
By recording a series of weight measurements on the appropriate growth chart, you can track your puppy's or kitten's growth over time and establish if he/she is developing normally, too quickly or too slowly.

How should I use the growth chart? |
You need to plot on the chart the age of the pet with the weight that you have just measured.
It is recommended to have at least 3 different weight measurements to confirm the percentiles in which your pet should evolve.

How often should the weighing and follow-up occur? |
It's recommended to measure and record growth at regular intervals.
- Every 2 to 4 weeks up to six months of age
- Every three months after six months of age

How to interpret and understand the percentiles lines? |
There are nine percentile lines in total, representing the 0.4th , 2nd , 9th, 25th, 50th , 75th , 91st , 98th , 99.6th percentile. There is no ideal percentile; if a puppy is tracking the 75th percentile, this means that 75% of puppies in this segment of population will weigh less and 25% will weigh more.
